Rhapsody in Blue...and Green, and Orange, and Purple, and...

(Work in progress)

"Ibong Adarna"
Drawing and Photoshop

The Ibong Adarna, or the Adarna Bird, is a mythical creature from the Philippines. It knows seven songs, and each time it finishes one song, it changes colors. Oh, and the bird's droppings turn people to stone (that's my favorite part).

This is a work in progress...I'll try to get sketches up when I finally finish it.

"You shoulda seen the other guy."

Ink and watercolor on 9" x 12" paper

For some reason I really wanted to draw/paint someone who was really beat up. No, it's not supposed to be Rocky.

Business Time

Self-Promo
Pen, ink, watercolor, and colored pencils on wood

I decided I needed a really nice business card (my current one is kind of...meh), so I came up with this. It'll also be my little plaque for when I get the chance to put my work up on the 6th floor wall at school...I thought it would be more interesting than having a plain label with my name on it.

Chewy

"Chewy"
Pen and watercolor on paper

I asked Romina what she thought I should draw and she said "Chewbacca!"...so here it is. Hope she likes it.

Some old life paintings

These are just some old model paintings from last year that I just never got around to scanning. I miss painting in oils...I should really get back to it.

Everything But the Kitschen Sync

The opening reception to the annual group show Everything But the Kitschen Sync was a week ago...My piece, "Lily" was in it and it sold! Woo!

It was a fun night, to say the least. Congrats to everyone who was in the show, including fellow Otis friends Sinae Park, Jessica Cooper, and Misato Otake, as well as instructors Nathan Ota and Daniel Lim.

Crazy 4 Cult

"Class Dismissed" (Battle Royale)
Watercolor, acrylic, and ink on 11" x 14" illustration board

"One of Us" (Freaks)
Mixed media on 7.5" x 9.5" panel

These are my two submissions to the Crazy4Cult group show at Gallery 1988. If you haven't seen "Battle Royale" or "Freaks" check them out!

[I scanned both of these before I remembered to sign them. Oops.]

Bitter/Sweet
Pencil and ink drawing
Colored in Photoshop

An illustration based on those nursery rhymes...You can guess which ones.
The computer I was working on crashed, so I had to start over in the middle of the night, the night before this was due. Consequently, I had to kind of rush it in the end, so maybe one day I'll go back to this and give it all the finishing touches it needs.
