This painting is based on a limerick:
There was a young lady from Niger
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger.
They returned from the ride
With the lady inside
And the smile on the face of the tiger.
Instead of having her riding on the tiger's back, I decided that it would be more interesting to have her riding in its mouth. She's unaware that she'll soon be in the tiger's belly. Uh-oh!
(The image is a bit hazy in some areas because I hadn't scanned it before I varnished it. The actual painting is quite shiny...and magical).
